KALIMAT AKTIF DAN KALIMAT PASIF

        Di dalam bahasa inggris terdapat kalimat aktif (active vioce) yang mana dalam kalimat aktif subject melakukan pekerjaan atau perbuatan. Kalimat aktif mempunyai ciri kata kerja me-. Misalnya: cooking, playing, breaking, dll.

Saya membeli baju. (kalimat aktif)

Lalu ada pula kalimat pasif (passive voice) yang mengambarkan subject tidak melakukan pekerjaan tetapi dikenai pekerjaan / perbuatan. Kalimat pasif mempunyai cirri kata kerja di-.

Misalnya : cooked, played, broken, dll.

Baju dibeli oleh saya. (kalimat pasif)

 

Contoh kalimat aktif dan pasif

  1. (Aktif) Mary was driving her car to the campus.

(Pasif) The car was being driven by Mary to the campus.

  1. (Aktif) Calvin sing a song with his guitar.

(Pasif) A song is sung by Calvin with his guitar.

  1. (Aktif) The doctor gave me a lot of medicine.

(Pasif) I was given by the doctor a lot of medicine.

  1. (Aktif) He breaks the chain.

(Pasif) The chain is broken by Him.

  1. (Aktif) Mom makes breakfast in the morning.

(Pasif) The breakfast is made by Mom in the morning.

  1. (Aktif) Harry spoke English very fluently.

(Pasif) English was spoken very fluently by Harry.

  1. (Aktif) He is reading the newspapers every morning.

(Pasif) The newspapers are being read by him every morning.

  1. (Aktif) They chose SBY to be the President.

(Pasif) SBY was chosen to be the President.

  1. (Aktif) Gloria gave me a gift as my birthday present.

(Pasif)  I was given a gift by Gloria as my birthday present.

  1. (Aktif) I will write the answer of the Math questions.

(Pasif) The answer of the  Math questions will be written by me.
